Current position
The Ogaden region remains administered as the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia. The ONLF operates as a legal political party following its 2018 peace agreement with Ethiopia, but by 2024-2025 warned the agreement was at risk of collapse over unmet commitments, with its leadership stating it was considering a possible return to insurgency.[1]
