What happened
Agreed in 2011 as part of the resolution of the government formation crisis and implemented through constitutional and legislative changes between 2012 and 2014, the sixth state reform transferred competences worth around €20 billion annually — about 4.4% of Belgian GDP — from the federal government to the regions and communities.[1]
