A 44-day war in which Azerbaijan recaptured surrounding territories and part of Nagorno-Karabakh itself, reversing much of the outcome of the first war.
What happened
The Second Nagorno-Karabakh War was fought between 27 September and 10 November 2020, ending in a significant Azerbaijani military victory that recaptured surrounding territories and around one-third of Nagorno-Karabakh; Armenia reported 3,825 soldiers and 85 civilians killed on its side, while Azerbaijan reported 2,906 soldiers and 100 civilians killed on its own side.[1]
