Claim: During the Tigray War, which began in 2020, Ethiopia's National Election Board terminated the TPLF's legal status; on 2 November 2022, the African Union brokered the Pretoria Agreement between the federal government and the TPLF, ending the war. Its terms centred on disarmament of Tigrayan forces, withdrawal of foreign and non-federal-army forces from Tigray, restoration of federal authority and services, unfettered humanitarian access, and the establishment of an inclusive Interim Regional Administration pending elections. This bundle does not narrate the war's military course, including disputed casualty figures, which are the subject of separate, extensive international reporting outside this bundle's scope.
