Operation All Clear, 2003-2004
Bhutan's military, with Indian support, destroyed KLO and allied groups' camps on its territory.
What happened
The KLO established training camps in Bhutan from shortly after its founding, reportedly in cooperation with other Assamese separatist groups.[1]
From 15 December 2003 to 3 January 2004, Bhutan's Royal Bhutan Army, supported by India, conducted Operation All Clear against these camps, destroying all 30 targeted camps and reportedly resulting in around 160 militants killed and 490 captured.[2]
