Admission of Mozambique to the United Nations, 1975
Following the Security Council's unanimous recommendation, the General Assembly admitted the People's Republic of Mozambique as a member of the United Nations.
What happened
The Security Council, having examined Mozambique's application for UN membership alongside those of Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe, unanimously recommended on 18 August 1975 that the General Assembly admit the People's Republic of Mozambique.[1] The General Assembly did so at its 2351st plenary meeting on 16 September 1975.[2]
