Mebyon Kernow ("Sons of Cornwall"), campaigning for Cornwall's recognition as a distinct national community with a right to self-determination comparable to Scotland and Wales, was founded on 6 January 1951.[1] At the May 2025 Cornwall Council election it won 3 of 87 seats, with 4.0% of the vote.[2]
