What happened
The Security Council, having examined Mauritius's application, unanimously recommended at its 1414th meeting on 18 April 1968 that the General Assembly admit Mauritius to UN membership.[1] The General Assembly, at its 1643rd plenary meeting on 24 April 1968, decided to admit Mauritius to UN membership.[2]
